Night Of Mawlid

Mawlid Al Nabi

Night of Mawlid is the night Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) honoured the whole universe with his coming. Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) honoured the whole universe with his arrival on the 12th night of Rabi’ al Awwal on a Monday. Thus, the 12th night of Rabi’ al Awwal is the a sacred night in the Hijri Calendar.

In this month, Muslims should try to recite Salawat Sharifah as often as possible, particularly Salat Al-Nariyah, Salat Al-Munjiyyah or Salat Al-Fathiyyah. To derive benefit from the blessings of this holy night, one should pray Tasbih Salah and perform Khatim Al-Anbiya.

Intention to Salat Tasbih this night should be as follows: “O Allah! I intend to pray Tasbih Salah for your sake only. O Allah, in honour of your beloved whom you sent to enlighten the world, the crown of our heads, Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam), forgive my sins and grant me your blessings. Allahu Akbar.” (Duas and Ibadahs, Fazilet Publishing

A Quote Form ‘Mawlid Sharif’ (A poem written in the praises of Rasulullah [Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam])

Arrived, the Sultan of the divine knowledge,
Arrived, the source the knowledge of Tawhid (Oneness of Allah).
For the sake of the arrived, moves the universe,
Humans and angels yearning to glimpse his beautiful face.
Such a sacred night is tonight,
His nur (light) turns everything latif (gentle) in universe.
The earth tonight becomes like a paradise,
When Allah showers His mercy onto everything.
Tonight, rejoice the people of the heart,
Tonight, enlivened with the people of the heart.
Mustafa (Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam) is the mercy to all worlds.
Mustafa (Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam) is the intercessor for the sinners.

Knowledge, Deeds And Sincerity

Imam Rabbani Mujahiddid Alf-Thani (Quddisa Sirruh) wrote in one of his letters:

Indeed Shari’ah (Islamic Canonical Law) is of three parts: Ilm (knowledge), amal (deeds) and ikhlas (sincerity). Shari’ah will not be established unless each of these three parts is practised. Once Shari’ah is established the pleasure of Allah Ta’ala, which is above and beyond all the pleasures of this world and Akhirah (hereafter), will be achieved.

Allah Ta’ala says, “…And the good pleasure of Allah is greater than everything…” (Surah Al-Tawba, 72). Thus, it is clearly understood that Shari’ Sharif (The exalted Islamic Canonical Law)  is the source of all happiness and success here and hereafter.

If the Shari’ah is established, nothing more will be needed or desired beyond Shari’ah. The choicest feature of Ahl Al-Tasawwuf (Sufis) is that they follow Tariqah and Haqiqah, which are facilitators to perfect ikhlas (sincerity), the third part of Shari’ah. (Maktubat Imam Rabbani, Volume1, letter36)

Imam Ghazali (Rahmatullâhi Alayhi) reported that one of the arifin (wise) had said as: “Those who have achieved no share from Tasawwuf are feared to die without iman at their last breath. The lowest level of having a share in Tasawwuf is to affirm its existence and submitting it to the hands of its rightful authorities” (Ihya Ulumuddin).
