Ilm (Knowledge) Will Not Disappear Till The Day Of Qiyamah

Harith Bin Umayra (Radhiyallahu Anhu), who was in the service of Muadh Bin Jabal (Radhiyallahu Anhu), narrated: During the sickness which caused Muadh (Radhiyallahu Anhu’s) death, he was fainting and regaining his consciousness. His family and relatives were around him. Once, he lost his consciousness until we thought he passed away. When he recovered, he saw us crying.

He asked why we were crying. We said: “By Allah, we are not crying due to a worldly gain from you or losing our kinship with you. Yet, we are crying because of the knowledge that will disappear.”

Hadhrat Muadh (Radhiyallahu Anhu) said: “Ilm (knowledge) will not disappear until the Day of Qiyamah. Anyone who seeks it will acquire it.  That knowledge is the book of Allah and the valued Sunnah of Rasûlullâh (Sallalâhu Alayhi Wa Sallam). When you hear something, just consider if it conforms to Kitab (Qur’an Al-Karim) and Sunnah. Do not attempt to align the speech of Allah to the other speeches.

Take the knowledge from Hadhrat Umar, Hadhrat Uthman and Hadhrat Ali (Radhiyallahu Anhum). If you can’t find them, from Abud Darda, Abdullah Bin Masud, Abdullah Bin Salam and Salman Al-Farisi (Radhiyallahu Anhum). Having these uttered, he passed away. -May Allah be pleased with him.
