Children Who Open The Gates Of Jannah
Whenever Rasulullah (S.A.W.) sat on a place to preach a group of his sahaba (R.A.), children would also sit around him. One of the sahaba had a son. This boy used to follow his father who used to make him sit on his lap while listening to the Prophet of Allah (S.A.W.). One day the boy passed away and the father stopped going to the sermons in order not to remember his son and become upset and broken.
One day as he did not see that sahabi at the gathering, Rasulullah (S.A.W.) asked: “Why am I not seeing so and so person amongst you?” They replied: “Oh prophet of Allah! His son, whom you’ve seen with him has passed away!”
After a while Rasulullah (S.A.W.) met the sahabi and asked about his son. The sahabi said that he had passed away. After expressing his condolences, Rasulullah (S.A.W.) addressed him: “O such and such person! What would make you happier? Living with him for your whole life time or him dashing to open the gate for you on the day of Qiyamah when you come in front of one of the gates Jannah?” The sahabi answered: “Oh prophet of Allah, of course his dashing to open the gate of Jannah for me.” Rasulullah (S.A.W.) said: “That’s true for you!” The other sahaba with him asked: “O prophet of Allah! Is this (reward) particularly for him or is it for all of us?” Rasulullah (S.A.W.) replied: “It is for all of you!”
